Sylvia Black & Tjitze de Jong

Sylvia & Tjitze will welcome you with open arms and open hearts into the tranquillity of Findhorn River Lodge. Our aim is to create a safe, warm space for people who have been diagnosed with cancer to come together and share, explore their journey in past, present and future.

About Sylvia:
Sylvia Black’s miraculous recovery from cancer was the major focus of the theatre production “Sylvia’s Ball”, which won a 5 star award at the Edinburgh Festival 2007. She is now vibrantly healthy after doctors considered her cancer terminal in 2004. She’s a qualified school teacher, counsellor, tennis coach and SCENAR therapist, who also offers Brandon Bay’s journey to clients. She lives in Findhorn Scotland.

About Tjitze:
Tjitze de Jong has been working intensely with individuals and groups for 20 years, initially as (crisis) social worker and since 1993 as massage therapist and healer. He graduated from Barbara Brennan School of Healing as both healer and teacher after which he founded Tjitze’s Energetic Cellular Healing School in Findhorn/Forres. Gradually his work has focused more on people with cancer with sometimes incredible results, of which Sylvia is a prime example.

The emphasis of the 5 days will be on sharing your story. Interwoven throughout the sharings will be theory, physical and energetic observation/feedback, questions and answers. We intend to use this open, explorative framework to cover the following issues:

1. What do you associate with the word “cancer”?

2. What challenges do you face along the way?

3. How do you (wish to) approach your healing journey? Conventionally? Complementary? Combining the two?

4. Have you felt isolated, supported, understood?

5. How was it for you when you told your family, friends, colleagues, boss? What was their reaction like? Did/does your situation have any effect on your relationships?

6. Do you experience any payoffs?

7. What does the cancer ask of you, now and in the future?

8. What are your future plans?

These and many other subjects may surface, depending on what you wish to share, discuss, ask, clarify. Your challenges and opportunities are key to the contents.
